11-12 October 2024

We are delighted to share that Antonio Mirabile, Partner of GREENART Project, led an engaging workshop titled “Colloids and Nanomaterials in the Field of Cultural Heritage Conservation: Theory and Applications” at the prestigious Metropolitan Museum of Art (The MET) in New York. The event took place on October 11 and 12, 2024, in the Museum’s Department of Textile Conservation.

The Textile Conservation Department at The MET is critical in preserving, conserving, and researching the Museum’s remarkable collection of approximately 36,000 textiles spread across twelve curatorial departments. During this two-day workshop, Antonio introduced key principles and applications of colloids and nanomaterials in the context of cultural heritage conservation, highlighting two crucial EU-funded projects: GREENART and AURORA.

This workshop provided an invaluable platform to present the latest innovations and methodologies in sustainable conservation materials, allowing participants to gain practical insights into how these materials can be used to protect and preserve invaluable textile works.

GREENART remains committed to advancing green approaches to cultural heritage conservation, and events like this workshop reflect our mission to foster collaboration and share knowledge with leading global institutions.
