Antonio Mirabile, Partner of the GREENART Project, conducted a training course at the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina, following the kind invitation of Azra Bečević-Šarenkapa. The two-day event brought together conservation professionals eager to explore cutting-edge materials and methods for the preservation of cultural heritage.
The training combined theoretical lectures with hands-on practical sessions, exploring innovative conservation tools such as gels, poultices, microemulsions, and nanocellulose. Participants were given opportunities to apply these materials to selected mock-ups and expendable case studies, fostering an engaging and interactive learning experience.
The course also included lively discussions on the conservation challenges posed by complex objects, addressing the integration of new materials into treatments. Bosnia and Herzegovina, with its rich and diverse cultural heritage spanning different periods and cultures, presents unique opportunities and responsibilities in preserving its treasures for future generations.
Participants’ enthusiasm, attention, and passion made this training a memorable and rewarding experience. Events like these play a pivotal role in advancing sustainable conservation practices and supporting the protection of cultural heritage worldwide.
