The GREENART Project recently held its highly anticipated Public Training Event at the Musée du quai Branly – Jacques Chirac in Paris, on April 10–11, 2024, marking a key moment in the dissemination of green and sustainable materials for cultural heritage conservation.

Co-organized and generously welcomed by the Musée du quai Branly – Jacques Chirac, the event gathered professionals, researchers, students, and stakeholders from across Europe and beyond, united by a shared goal: advancing environmentally responsible practices in conservation.

From Science to Practice

The two-day training featured:

  • Engaging presentations from leading researchers on cutting-edge green cleaning materials, hydrogels, nanocellulose-based coatings, and sensors.
  • Hands-on workshops where attendees tested and evaluated sustainable solutions directly on mock-ups and demonstration surfaces.
  • Dynamic discussions on real-world applications and future challenges of sustainable conservation.
  • Chaired by respected professionals such as Antonio Mirabile, Agnès Gall-Ortlik, Stéphanie Elarbi, Éléonore Kissel and Émilie Dominey, the sessions brought clarity to complex scientific topics while maintaining a practical and collaborative atmosphere.

This event not only showcased the tangible progress of GREENART’s research, but also built bridges between disciplines, institutions, and cultures — all in the spirit of innovation and sustainability.
