On September 27, 2024, the Hungarian National Museum participated in the annual Researchers’ Night event, showcasing the remarkable work of conservators and promoting sustainable, eco-friendly approaches in heritage management. With 27 diverse programs, including guided tours, interactive activities, and lectures, this year’s event attracted 569 enthusiastic visitors, reaffirming its status as one of the museum’s key annual events.

A highlight of the night was the GREENART Project presentations, which focused on innovative conservation techniques. Conservators selected case study artworks to demonstrate recent discoveries in sustainable preservation, emphasizing collaborations across fields like the cosmetics and food industries. Lectures highlighted the importance of community involvement in heritage preservation, stressing how society can contribute to environmentally conscious practices.

The behind-the-scenes tours of conservation laboratories and storage areas were particularly popular, providing a rare insight into the museum’s conservation efforts. Additional lectures introduced upcoming exhibitions, creating an engaging experience for all attendees. With themes including the history of jewelry and pop culture references, The Night effectively connected heritage conservation with everyday life.
